A novelty by Naolys: during this month, the French company which develops and produces active plant cells for the cosmetic sector along with an innovative biotechnology, has launched its tested new active ingredient.
Its name is Unwind Sacred Lotus, consisting of plant cells of the Indian lotus flower (nelumbo nucifera), in particular widely used and developed in Asia.
Unwind Sacred lotus: the natural active ingredient
The lotus flower has always been a symbol of purity, beauty, regeneration. Also in the cosmetic field, this active ingredient can modulate the skin neurosystem and has a relaxing effect helping to restore the balance of the skin, while reducing the effects of oxidation and irritation.
Unwind Sacred lotus: effects
The general comfort effect of Unwind Sacred Lotus on the skin acts on neuromodulators and neurohormones. At cellular level, in the epidermis these show:
- a relaxing effect, i.e. they control the release of melatonin as well as of 3 neuromodulators: Substance P, CGRP and acetylcholine
- a soothing effect, i.e. they decrease the release of 3 inflammation mediators
- an antioxidant effect, i.e. they reduce oxidative stress (and the consequent initiation of free radicals).
Unwind Sacred lotus does not contain preservers. It can be used in the formulas of care products (face and body) and make-up products. COSMOS or Natrue approvals are available on request for all liquid forms of the product, as well as ISO 16128 certifications.
Unwind Sacred lotus: clinical investigations
A clinical investigation was carried out on 20 women between 25 and 65 years and it showed an overall improvement in skin tone as for brightness (+ 28%), shine (+ 26%) and homogeneity (+ 19%) after 28 days treatment (twice a day). The above tests were performed with a concentration of 0.5% (20% cells in 80% vegetable glycerin).
