There is a close relationship between the skin and the nervous system: the dermis and epidermis are highly innervated by the peripheral nervous system.

The investigation and comprehension of skin neurons allows us to design new molecules being able to modulate their functional activity, responses and/or structure. They are known as neurocosmetic molecules and their development has widened the classification of neurocosmetics with new categories.

AntalGenics, a Spanish company specializing in the production of active ingredients for neurocosmetics (just included in our portfolio of represented companies), puts the focus of product design onto the neuronal component while developing new active ingredients for skin care.
