Since 1909 the distribution of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients has been the company’s core business. In the beginning particular focus was placed on the distribution of API’s in the field of Alkaloid Opiates, owing to the exclusive agency contracts established since decades with important manufacturers.
Ever since the company has expanded its APIs range with particular attention to innovative and particular substances. Manufacturers are always selected with care to guarantee products’ compliance with Italian and European Ministries of Health requirements.
Our distribution activity has been authorized by AIFA (import of APIs from non EU Countries), local Health authorities and Ministry of Health (distribution of controlled substances and precursors).
Carlo Sessa are also offering a pre-audit service to the API’s manufacturing plants located outside Europe, as to ensure that such plants production and quality standards fully comply with the existing European regulations concerning API’s production.
